Couple Smile Makeover
When this husband & wife came in for their first checkup & clean with us, they talked about wanting to improve their smiles. Both were unhappy with the colour of their teeth, and they both had concerns about the shape and size of their teeth. All of these factors can influence the health and appearance of your teeth. If you feel like your smile isn’t reflecting how you want to present yourself to the world, book in with one of our caring dentists for a smile makeover consultation. Let us help you to have the smile you deserve.
Dr Deb believes in really helping people to achieve a smile that helps them to feel like the best version of themselves. This is where her passion for smile makeovers comes in to play and can help you to feel confident in your smile.
To create this smile we used a combination of teeth whitening and crown work. For years she had felt like she needed to hide her teeth and was unhappy with their appearance. She had people commenting on them negatively and this was affecting her selfesteem. Her front teeth were broken & shortened from grinding, so you couldn’t see much of them when she smiled.
After meeting with Dr Deb and having her teeth assessed, we discovered that the patient required an overall plan to help combat the effects of grinding, as well as improving the aesthetics of the teeth to match her face. Crowns can help to protect the tooth and add strength, as well as being able to alter the appearance.
Crowns can also help stabilise your bite, especially when it has been collapsed in due to grinding. Once we had transformed this smile into one which looks naturally beautiful, we then needed to ensure it was protected from future damage due to grinding. Grinding your teeth during the night is very common, and unfortunately is something we have no control over. It can be extremely damaging to your teeth, and even your new dental work!
To protect this new smile Dr Deb created a customised comfortable night guard for our patient. The results speak for themselves, and our patient couldn’t be happier with her results. A brighter, natural and healthy-looking smile for all to see.
Dr Deb completed a routine checkup and clean during which this patient disclosed he was not happy with the shape of his front teeth or the colour of his teeth. All we needed to freshen up this smile was some teeth whitening, and a slight adjustment to his front teeth with some subtle tooth coloured fillings. His front tooth was chipped as a child and had been capped multiple times, never lasting more than a few months.
Understandably this frustrated the patient, causing him to leave it as it was for years. Dr Deb investigated the cause of why he was losing his front filling so often and discovered he was grinding on it and creating too much stress on the filling. Dr Deb explained that fixing his smile was an easy process, but he would need the protection of a night guard in order to preserve it. The patient was happy to understand the cause of the problem and was keen to proceed with the treatment.
After a whitening session with the Oral Health Therapist, his teeth were pearly white. Dr Deb then added to the front teeth and the tooth that was chipped, to recreate his ideal tooth shape giving this patient relief from his frustration, and a great smile to present himself with.
