Put a Spring in Your Step
With spring in the air, it’s wedding season here in Australia.
If you’re a bride or groom to-be, we’re sure months of meticulous planning have gone into getting things just right for the big day – and this no doubt includes how you’ll look. So what better way to complement your wedding ensemble, than with a bright, healthy smile?
If you’re hoping to capture a winning grin in your wedding snaps, there are a few different cosmetic dental procedures you may be interested in trying.
As with everything else in this process, timing is everything. So plan ahead to ensure the best results, and if you’re unsure of what you want overall, try to book a consult with your dentist as soon as possible.
General Check Up
If you’re unsure where to start, we recommend booking in a general check up with your dentist.
This is a great way to figure out how healthy your smile is, and identify which treatments you may want to proceed with – whether it be a simple clean, a filling, or something a little more dramatic like teeth whitening.
Perhaps you’re happy with the overall appearance of your teeth, but just want a little polishing.
Getting your teeth professionally cleaned is a great way to remove stubborn plaque and bacterial build-up – which is a positive for both the appearance and health of your smile in the long-term!
Zoom Teeth Whitening
This will ensure your smile is as radiant as the rest of you.
At Azura, we use Zoom – a safe and effective way to lighten your teeth up to eight shades!
Because whitening can make your teeth feel more sensitive, it is recommended that you complete your treatments about a month before the wedding. This way you can enjoy the day to the fullest, without having to worry about sensitivity!
There are a few options you may wish to consider to brighten up that smile:
1. Whitening at Azura
This provides the most dramatic results. Your dentist will apply a gel with a stronger concentration of peroxide than at-home kits. These gels are activated with a high-power light, breaking apart the bonds between stained molecules.
Occasionally, you will also be provided with take-home maintenance kits to help keep your smile brighter for longer.
2. Whitening at Home
This treatment is supervised by your dentist, and is therefore a safe and effective way to get brighter teeth at home.
Your dentist will begin by customising your whitening trays. These are created from impressions of your teeth and will fit comfortably and securely.
You will then need to apply the whitening agent yourself at home. Generally, the treatments will need to be applied daily for about two weeks, but your dentist will inform you of the ideal schedule to fit your teeth.
We always recommend dentist-supervised whitening systems as they are safer for your enamel and more effective at removing deep-set stains.
